Entering
the river from Intracoastal waterway at the
Jupiter Inlet you will pass under the A1A and railroad bridges
to run the shallow channel up the NW
fork past the many mangrove lined island and cuts along the way. The river is dotted with big
money homes all the way to the entrance of
Jonathan Dickinson State Park. In the 1960's the river was
desolate with only a few homes sprinkled amongst the deep Pine and Scrub
Palm forest. Even now with an overgrowth of docks and boat lifts the
river is still a great diverse fishery. Snook, Tarpon are the main
targets but if you travel far enough up the river
you will even catch Bass and Gar. Navigation is
hazardous due to the many sandbars and oyster piles. |
